New Photos Up!

Photo of the "event lighting" at the Plevna Prom.

We have photos from Easter Egg decorating and the Plevna Prom.

Speaking of Plevna Prom, we attended that Grand March last night. You'll really want to check out the photos from that event. All of 31 kids attended, and about 100 members of the community showed up to watch. The theme was Viva Las Vegas, and it was held in the gym. Stephan and I were really impressed with the decorations, and LOVED all the dressed up kids!

I'll get to telling that radio DJ story later this week.

Our 2+ Years in Montana Have Come Down to ONE Question

How many high school football players would it take to steal a 1,000lb hay bale?

Here are the variables one would need to consider when answering the question:
1. What is the hay bale made of?
2. Which direction are they going to roll it?
3. Which positions do the high school players play?
4. What type of vehicle do they have as a getaway car?

I'm still having a hard time believing we spent such a long time discussing this.

No Easter Photo!

Mom and Dad promised to send me a photo of me & the Easter Bunny. But they didn't come through. So, instead, here's an email forward that I keep laughing about. Laugh with me.

Free Bacon

Two Mexicans are stuck in the desert, wandering aimlessly and close to death. They are close to just lying down and waiting for the inevitable, when all of a sudden........

Louis: Hey Pepe, do you smell what I smell? Ees bacon I is sure of eet.

Pepe: Si, Luis eet smells like bacon to meee.

So, with renewed strength, they struggle up the next sand dune, and there, in the distance, is a tree loaded with bacon. There's raw bacon, dripping with moisture, there's fried bacon, back bacon, double smoked bacon... every imaginable kind of cured pig meat.

Louis: Pepe, Pepe, we is saved. Eees a bacon tree.

Pepe: Luis, are you sure ees not a meerage? We ees in the Desert don't forget.

Louis: Pepe when deed you ever hear of a meerage that smell like bacon... ees no meerage, ees a bacon tree.

And with that, Luis Races towards the tree. He gets to within 5 metres, Pepe following closely behind, when all of a sudden, a machine gun opens up,and Luis is cut down in his tracks. It is clear he is mortally wounded but, a true friend that he is, he manages to warn Pepe with his dying breath.

Louis: Pepe... go back man, you was right ees not a bacon tree.

Pepe: Luis Luis mi amigo... what ees it?

Louis: Pepe... ees not a bacon tree...

No Longer Ranchers

Sadly, Stephan's experimental FFA phase has ended. A few weeks back the rancher on whose land we were keeping our three cows had a beef (hee hee) with Stephan and the pseudo-transaction came to an end. Just yesterday the rancher paid Stephan for his work, and they shook hands to close the deal.

How do we feel about this?

Eh. I'm bummed- I never even got to see the calves. I was just getting excited about calving, feeding cake, branding, etc. (Now what will we brand? We registered it and everything! Any volunteers?) Stephan was getting a little tired of waking up at 6am on his days off and getting chewed on for not knowing what he was supposed to be doing. I think also, his real-work schedule started getting in the way of his ranch-work schedule... those dang humans just keep getting sick and hurting themselves!!

So, it's over. I'm bummed. Stephan's a little relieved. I never got my cowgirl hat. Now what's he going to do with those $200 boots??

Few!

Some things that led to me laughing a LOT:

1. We ARE having a baby! Exciting!
2. It's due in November. A LONG way away.
3. I'm feeling great, just lazy- or sleepy- depending on your point of view.
4. I was in the ER yesterday with some unexplained bleeding, but that turned out ok.
5. They told me to go home and rest, which I did today and yesterday....

Which all led to Stephan doing laundry just now wearing cowboy boots & long johns. My evening is complete.

Stephan wants you all to call your therapists right now to begin the process of getting that picture out of your head.
